To celebrate July 4, the MC Theater Group presented “American Patriotism”. The readings and performances created a special way to honor a beloved holiday. Residents were treated to festive sweets and the theater group enjoyed lunch in the bistro after the event.

Musical Performances
- Paul Stein and Stephanie Lan. This talented duo performed pieces from the Great American Composers. The auditorium was full with music lovers taking in their beautiful piano and violin music.
- Pianist Vijay Venkatesh and Baritone Matthew Hough. These remarkable performers took the residents on a musical journey as their memorizing and hauntingly wonderful songs filled the auditorium.
- Decades of Rock: “Happy Hour became even happier when the band Decades of Rock brought residents to their feet, dancing to the music.
- Dennis Witcher Band: This Bluegrass group played a musical happy hour for residents. Great tunes filled the auditorium for the appreciative audience.
- Grace Faye: The talented jazz singer performed some favorites. Residents enjoyed wine and charcuterie to accompany the wonderful music.

Crafts
Creative Living offers small group “Still Life” painting classes twice a month. Residents have the opportunity to learn new painting techniques and embrace the creativity that comes with immersing themselves in their work.

Outings
There were organized outings in July. Residents went to Laguna Beach to stroll the area, check out the shops and enjoy lunch.
Residents visited Makers and Clay Ceramic Arts Studio in the heart of old-town Monrovia. They attended a guided clay session in which they were able to create a decorative and functional piece of art.
