    December & January Events

The Holidays were wonderful at The Covington, a joyous time for family and friends, and filled with the spirit of the season. From presents under the tree and ringing in the New Year to January resolutions, residents continue to embrace opportunity and relish new experiences.

    New Year’s Eve

One thing we’ve learned over the years is that residents love to throw a party. Our annual New Year’s Eve party was once again a lively affair, offering residents a chance to celebrate another year and look forward to the future together. The evening included a Fantasy Casino, which allows residents to throw caution to the wind without losing their wallets (something everyone appreciated the next day).

A large group of people, mostly women, smile for a group photo in a well-lit room with tables and chairs. Some are seated while others stand behind them, and everyone appears cheerful and relaxed.

    A New Perspective

The Covington is proud to be part of the ECS family of active senior living communities, an organization at the forefront of senior care, support, and lifestyle. Recently, ECS staff came together for a new and powerful training experience. Through immersive learning and hands-on training exercises, more than 30 team members became Certified Dementia Practitioners. From caregivers and nurses to dining and transportation staff, everyone walked away with new tools and a deeper understanding of how to support residents with empathy and respect.

    Walking Club

The Covington Walking Club meets every week to explore a different part of our region. Recently, they visited the Dana Point Headlands Conservation Area, where four conservation parks span almost 60 acres. Three miles of public trails link the conservation parks and public open space areas of the Headlands. The system includes pedestrian trails, coastal and beach access, scenic overlooks, and an informative Nature Interpretive Center. The conservation area is home to more than 150 species of plants and animals native to coastal Southern California. It was a beautiful day out in a stunning location.
