Pumpkins, apples, live music, and nature walks were just some of the themes on the calendar at The Covington last month.

At The Covington
Our annual Staff Pumpkin Decorating Contest saw a variety of imaginative entries. It was obvious how much thought and effort everyone put into their creation. Judges had a tough task identifying the winner but eventually settled on the Weightlifter Pumpkin, followed closely by the Doggy Ghost Pumpkin.

At The Covington
Crafting is the art of turning ordinary objects into extraordinary things. At The Covington’s Canyon House, residents glazed bisque holiday pieces for gifts and for themselves. Creativity is always at our fingertips when given the opportunity and residents once again showed their talents.

At The Covington
Staff and residents alike got their spooky on this Halloween with a day of costumes and treats. It was clear a lot of thought went into the costumes. The atmosphere was akin to the giddy fun we all had as children, roaming the neighborhood in search of treats.

Outings
The bounty of the harvest is a special time of year. Recently, residents visited the Julian Pie Company in historic Julian, California. They sampled some of their delicious pies. Made with fruit fresh off the tree, the hard part was choosing which flavor to enjoy. What wasn’t in question was the perfect fall afternoon weather.

Outings
Residents attended the opening night of the South Coast Symphony Concert Series in Long Beach, featuring Broadway Showstoppers and Hollywood Film Scores. It was a fantastic night of performances with the musicians, singers, and dancers giving their all. Music is an indelible part of our lives (and memories) and the evening received rave reviews.
