Author and Historian Chris Epting lives for great stories. He writes books about the things he loves — travel, music, baseball and popular culture. As a journalist, he writes as much about travel and music as American history. For about 10 years he had a weekly column in the Los Angeles Times and wrote for the Huffington Post for about six years. For about eight years he was the national spokesperson for the Hampton Hotel Save-A-Landmark program which allowed him to travel extensively, telling stories and working to help preserve some of America’s true treasures.
Residents reveled in his love of story and history as he presented Orange County Then and Now. Through stunning historical photographic comparisons and stories, he showcased the transformation of local landscapes and iconic sites over the past half century.

Performances
Cosette Lyncheski is a versatile and experienced vocalist with a rich background in classical, theatrical, and liturgical music. She has served as a cantor and section leader for almost two decades and has performed with professional vocal ensembles, bringing skill, sensitivity, and artistry to a wide range of musical settings.
In addition to her extensive work as a soloist and ensemble singer, Cosette is an accomplished stage performer with years of theatrical experience. She trained in theatre at Wagner College and studied improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), further enriching her dynamic performance style.
She performed a range of Broadway favorites for residents at The Covington. From classic show tunes to modern hits, her voice lit up the room and brought the magic of musical theater to life.

Performances
Kenny Hale leads a great group of talented musicians dedicated to recreating the classic music of Neil Diamond with authenticity and passion. His vocal performance is widely regarded as the most accurate and heartfelt tribute to Neil Diamond today. Kenny’s ability to capture Neil Diamond’s signature voice, emotional depth, and stage presence—combined with the band’s outstanding musicianship—creates a memorable experience.
On a beautiful evening, residents enjoyed cocktails, indulged in delicious dessert and danced under the stars to the beloved music of Neil Diamond, thanks to Kenny Hale and his band.

Outings
Orange County Rescue Mission is a faith-based, life-transformation program that provides on-campus housing, basic needs, and comprehensive services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Residents recently visited OC Rescue Mission to volunteer and meet with the students, then share lunch together. Seeing the progress of formerly unhoused young people was inspiring.

Outings
The Covington has an active group of residents who explore trails and walks in the area. Recently they took in the beauty of Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park in Laguna Niguel.
This park is designated as a wildlife sanctuary, and has about 4,500 acres of wilderness and natural open space land. Within the park lands are mature oaks, sycamores, and elderberry trees, two year-round streams and more than 30 miles of official trails. It’s home to many rare and endangered plants and animals, making it a spectacular destination for a day’s hike.
