    Rise and Hike: Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail

    Have you ever imagined hiking one of the nation’s most iconic trails, from Mexico to Canada, 2,653 miles over 175 days? Want the dirt? Join us for a presentation by Scott Thomas, Executive Director of Laguna Canyon Foundation. Scott will share lessons learned from his through-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail, including his training on our local wilderness trails and highlights of the journey. This is the what, why, and how of hiking a long-distance trail.

    The Classic Film: Psycho

    Join us for a screening of one of Alfred Hitchcock’s most shocking films of all time. The 1960 film Psycho redefined horror movies. The film score, written by Bernard Herrmann, was so iconic that Hitchcock said, “Thirty-three percent of the effect of Psycho was due to the music.” Marion Crane, played by Janet Leigh visits the Bates Motel and falls prey to one of cinema’s most notorious psychopaths Norman Bates, played by Anthony Perkins. A must-see for movie lovers. Theater snacks will be served.
