“Living on One Dollar” Documentary & Discussion with the filmmakers Chris Temple & Zach Ingrasci of Optimist Films
Two college students spend two months of their summer living on one dollar a day each in a Guatemalan Indian village to personally experience extreme poverty and how to cope with the necessities of life and survival itself. With no training or experience in filmmaking, Chris Temple and Zach Ingrasci made a film that premiered on Netflix, and won several awards.

Join us for a screening and discussion of this documentary film. “MacArthur Park: Warriors in the Urban Storm” is about fierce, street-savvy activists who have struggled against poverty, the housing crisis, homelessness, crime and gang activity to make life better in a neighborhood that sits directly in the crosshairs of the urban crisis.

Singer-songwriter Suzanne May performs as Fonteyn. Join us for dessert and coffee as we enjoy her music, which reflects her love of ’70s music, drawing from her idols such as Carole King, Todd Rundgren and Paul McCartney to create a sound that’s original yet familiar.
